Kathleen B. More LL.B.(Hons), Dip L.P.

Partner

Kathleen More is one of Scotland's best known criminal defence solicitors and one of the most successful.

Operating all around the Edinburgh area, she is best known for having secured acquittals for high profile Accused at trial. She has had considerable success in Scotland's Appeal Court also, having achieved the overturning of convictions for both murder and rape.

Kathleen also tutors the next generation of lawyers, teaching the Edinburgh University Diploma Year course in Criminal Court Practice.

Richard A. K. Souter LL.B.(Hons), Dip L.P.

Partner

Richard Souter has had an extensive career in Scottish defence law, as well as having worked for the Procurator Fiscal's Office.

Since January 2010, he has also been a qualified criminal Solicitor-Advocate operating in the High Court. He has been instructed in cases involving charges of murder, rape and high value drug importation. He is also regularly instructed in the Court of Criminal Appeal.

Melissa Virtue LL.B.(Hons), Dip L.P.

Senior Solicitor

Melissa joined the team as a trainee in 2014 after working in SACRO's Restorative Justice Service. She assists in the preparation of cases to the highest standards including Bail Appeals, Appeal Court cases and High Court trials. Enthusiastic about all aspects of Criminal Defence, she has experience of dealing with all accused persons who find themselves in a difficult situation.
